TRAVEL TIP: Boots for comfort An ill-fitting or new, untried boot can cause a hiker misery after a long day on the trail. To prevent blisters, aching feet, and twisted ankles, make sure your footwear is suited to the type of terrain and pack weight you will be traveling with on your trip.
